Democracy in Crisis
Tuesday, September 24, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Lyric Theatre, 135 College Ave., Blacksburg. Citizen groups concerned with threats to democracy are hosting the film "Bad Faith," exploring the rise of Christian Nationalism in the United States. MCDC is a sponsor. A Q&A will follow with Nancy MacLean, historian and author of Democracy in Chains. Free and open to public. Donations accepted at the door.
Montgomery County School Board Meetings
Meetings are normally held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 7 p.m. Typically, the first meeting of the month is at the Montgomery County Government Center, 755 Roanoke Street, Christiansburg. The second meeting of the month is typically a work session, usually held at the district School Board Office, 750 Imperial Street, Christiansburg. Meeting dates, times, and locations can change. Montgomery County Board of Supervisors Meetings
Meetings are normally held on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at the Government Center, 755 Roanoke Street, Christiansburg. Open sessions begin at 7:15 p.m. Citizens are invited to attend.
